Snowmass Matrix Quest

Arriving back to LondonDairy in September 2010.

Described by Snowmass Alpacas as a “grey fawn”, Quest is the perfect herd sire selection for breeders looking to integrate some of the most influential fine fleece accoyo genetics into their fawn, black and grey females. Consistently medium fawn throught his blanket, Quest displays grey and black coloring in his muzzle, further supporting him as an ideal herd sire choice for colored females or females with color in their pedigree.

Stud Fee $2500 (2) for $3500

Quest’s impressive four show records boast he is an impressive mature male.

  • 1st place and Fawn Color Champion at the Best of the US level IV show, March 2010!
  • 1st place and Fawn Reserve Color Champion at the North American level V show, April 2010 over 153 other fawn males!
  • 2nd Place at The Futurity, 1020
  • 1st Place and Fawn Color Champion at the Great Midwest Alpaca Show level IV 2010
  • 1st Place and Fawn Color Champion at the I-80 Show level III 2010
Matrix Quest’s powerful genetic attributes come from distinguished and notable ancestors including Accoyo Elite, Vengador, Legacy and the Allianza genetics of Hemingway and Bueno. Conformationally superior, featuring a solid thick boned frame, Quests many favorable genetic traits include density coupled with exemplary fineness, which is supported by his adult fleece stats at 18 microns. He possesses an exquisitely uniform, tight crimp style from skin to tip that you can’t help but want to touch!

A skin biopsy revealed 76 follicles/SQMM and an S/P of 12:1. Quest shows level 4 of 4 for gland and few primary fibers approaching 30 microns. A great report that puts him in the top 1% of alpacas tested.

His overall fine uniformity and density is carried all the way under his belly and down to his hocks. He is the definition of trait linking. With this type of density comes fineness, uniformity, crimp & brightness. All of these features are crucial characteristics to obtain when the primary goal is to expand the usable fiber on all alpacas.

Another amazing Quest fleece picture.
